Nardostachys Rhizome is the dried root and rhizome of Nardostachys chinensis Batal. or Nardostachys jatamansi DC. (Fam.Valerianaceae).

Action: To regulate the flow of qi and relieve pain, and to invigorate the spleen function.

Indications: Epigastric and abdominal distension with anorexia and vomiting; external use for toothache and swelling of the foot.

Usage: To be ground into powder and taken after pouring liquid on it.

Dosage: For external use, appropriate quantity to be made into infusion for gargle, made into decoction for washing or ground into powder for topical application.
