Toad Venom is the dried secretion of Bufo bufo gargarizans
Cantor or Bufo melanostictus Suhneider (Fam.
Bufonidae).
Action:
To counteract toxicity, to relieve pain,
and to restore consciousness.
Indications:
Carbuncles, boils, sore throat; vomiting, diarrhea,
abdominal pain and impaired consciousness in heatstroke; anaesthesia
for surgical operation.
Usage: Mostly
used in making pills or powders; appropriate quantity for
external use.
Precaution:
Used with caution in pregnancy.
