Tinospora
Root is the dried root tuber of Tinospora sagittata (Oliv.)
Gagnep. or Tinospora capillipes Gagnep. (Fam. Menispermaceae).
Action:
To remove toxic
heat, to cure sore throat and to relieve pain.
Indications:
Swelling and pain of the throat, carbuncles and boils;
diarrhea, dysentery; epigastric pain of heat type.
Usage:
For external use, appropriate quantity to be ground into powder
and insufflated into the throat, or to be ground together
with vinegar and applied topically.
