Storax is the purified balsam obtained from the trunk of Liqu idambar orientalis Mill. (Fam. Hamamelidaceae).

Action: To induce resuscitation to expel evil factors, and to relieve pain.

Indications: Stroke, sudden loss of consciousness; epilepsy and convulsions; pain with cold sensation in the chest or abdomen.

Dosage: Used in pills or powder, but not decoction.
