Snake Slough is the dried epidermal membrane of Elaphe taeniura Cope, Elaphe carinata (Guenther) or Zaocys dhumnades (Cantor) (Fam. Colubridae).

Action: To arrest convulsions, to counteract toxicity, and to clear the eye of corneal opacity.

Indications: Infantile convulsion; nebula; inflammation of the throat, boils; cuaneous itching.

Usage: To be made into decoction, or to be ground into powder for oral administration.
