Shiny pricklyash is the dried root of Zanthoxylum nitidum (Roxb.) DC. (Fam. Rutaceac).

Action: To pnomote the flow of qi and relieve pain, to promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis, to remove obstruction from the collaterals and dispel wind.

Indications: Traumatic injury; rheumatic arthralgia; stomachache; toothache; snake bite; external
use for scald.

Dosage: For external use, appropriate quantity to be pounded into paste for topical application or to be decocted for washing.

Precaution: Over dose should be avoided. Incompatible with sour food.
