Sappan Wood is the dried heart wood of Caesalpinia sappan L. (Fam. Leguminosae).

Action: To promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis, and to cause subsidence of swelling and relieve pain.

Indications: Amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, blood stasis after delivery; pricking pain in the chest and abdomen, traumatic swelling and pain.

Precaution: Used with caution in pregnancy.
