Rosewood is the dried heart wood of trunk and root of Dalbergia odorifera T. Chen (Fam. Leguminosae).

Action: To relieve pain by promothing the circulation of qi and blood, and to arrest bleeding.

Indications: Epigastric pain, costal and hypochondriac pains due to stagnancy of qi of the liver, angina pectoris, traumatic injuries and bleeding.

Usage: To be added when the decoction is nearly done; for external use,appropriate quantity to be ground into fine powder and applied topically.
