Platycodon Root is dried root of Platycodon grandiflorum (Jacq.) A. DC.(Fam. Camp- anulaceae).

Action: To relieve cought, to soothe sore throat , and to promote expectoration and discharge of pus.

Indications: Cough with much phlegm, sore throat hoarseness of voice; lung abscess with purulent expectoration; absecess difficult to burst after suppuration.
