Pepper Fruit is the dried nearly ripe or ripe fruit of Piper nigrum L. (Fam. Piperaceae).

Action: To dispel cold from the stomach, and to eliminate phlegm.

Indications: Vomiting, abdominal pain diarrhea and anorexia due to cold in the stomach; epilepsy with much phlegm.

Usage: To be ground into powder for oral administration; appropriate quantity for external use.
