Musk is the dried secretion of the musk sac of adult male Moschus berezovskii Flerov, Moschus sifanicus Przewalski or Moschus moschiferus Linnaeus (Fam. Cervidae).

Action: To restore consciousness, to activate blood circulation and stimulate menstrual discharge, to cause subsidence of swelling, and to relieve pain.

Indications: Loss of consciousness in febrile diseases, stroke, syncope and attack of noxious factors; amenorrhea, mass in the abdomen; dystocia; sudden atack of precordial and abdominal pain; carbuncles, lymphadenitis; sore throat; traumatic pain; numbness and pain in arthritis.

Usage: Mostly used in making pills or powders; appropriate quantity ofr external use.

Precaution:Contraindicated in pregnancy.
