Acanthopanax Root is the dried root and rhizome of Acanthopanax
senticosus (Rupr. et Maxim.) Harms (Fam. Araliaceae).
Action:
To reinforce qi,
to invigorate the function of the spleen and the kidney, and
to calm the nerves.
Indications:
Hypofunction of the spleen and kidney marked by general
weakness, lassitude, anorexia, aching of the loins and knees;
insomnia and dream-disturbed sleep.
