Linseed is the dried ripe seed of Linum usitatissimum L. (Fam. Linaceae).

Action: To cause lubrication, and to dispel wind.

Indications: Constipation, dryness and itching of the skin, withering and loss of hair.

Precaution: Contraindicated in patients with loose bowels.
