Katsumada Galangal Seed is the dried almost ripe seed of Alpinia katsumadai Hayata (Fam. Zingiberaceae).

Action: To remove damp, to invigorate the spleen function, to warm the stomach and to arrest vomiting.

Indications: Accumulation of damp-cold in the spleen and the stomach manifested by epigastric distension, pain and cold feeling accompanied with belching, nausea, vomiting and anorexia.
