Franchet Groundcherry Fruit is the dried persistent calyx or the persistent calyx with fruit of
Physalis alkekengi L. var. franchetii (Mast. ) Makino (Fam. Solanaceae).

Action: To remove toxic heat, to soothe the sore throat, to resolve phegm, and to relieve dysuria.

Indications: Sore throat and hoarsenese of voice; cough with yellow sticky sputum; dysuria; external use for pemphigus and eczema.

Usage: For extenal use, appropriate quantity to be pounded into paste and applied topically.
