Ladybell Root is the dried root of Adenophora tetraphylla
(Thunb.)Fisch. or Adenophora stricta Miq.
(Fam. Campanulaceae).
Action:
To nourish yin
and remove heat from the lung, to resolve phlegm, and to reinforce
qi.
Indications:
Heat in the lung with dry cough; cough with scanty
sticky sputum in phthisis with deficiency of yin; deficiency
of both qi and yin with feverishness and thirst.
Precaution:
Incompatible with Rhizoma et Radix Veratri.
