Exsiccated
Sodium Sulfate is obtained from efflorescence of Glauber's
salt, containing mainly sodium sulfate.
Action:
To soften the
dry feces, relax the bowels and purge off heat, and to remove
fire and cause the subsidence of swelling.
Indications:
Constipation with retention of dry leces and abdominal
pain caused by excessive heat.
External use of Natrii Sulfas Exsiccatus: Sore throat, ulcers
of the mouth and tongue, swelling and pain of the gums, conjuctivitis,
carbuncles, erysipelas.
Usage:
For external use, appropriate quantity to be dissolved in
water for washing or to be ground into powder for insufflating
in the mouth or throat.
