Datura Flower is the dried flower of Datura metel L. (Fam. Solanaceae).

Action: To relieve asthma and cough, to alleviate pain, and to arrest spasm.

Indications: Asthma and cough; epigastric pain with cold sensation; rheumatic arthralgia chronic infantile convulsions; anaesthesia for surgical operation.

Usage Mostly used in making pills or powders. It may be inhalated subdivided in the dosage form of cigarettes (daily dose not exceeding ). Appropriate quantity for external use.

Precaution:Contraindicated in patients with cough and asthma caused by respiratory affections, glaucoma, or hypertension.
