Chinese Holly Leaf is the dried leaf of Ilex cornuta Lindl. (Fam. Aquifoliaceae).

Action: To remove heat, to subdue the hyperactivity of the liver, and to replenish the kidney yin.

Indications: Hemoptysis and afternoon fever in phthisis; dizziness, hypertension.
