Chinese Cinquefoil is the dried herb of Potentilla chinensis Ser. (Fam. Rosaceae).

Action: To remove toxic heat and reduce heat in blood , and to relieve dysentery.

Indications: Dysentery with bloody stools, chronic dysentery; hemorrhoidal bleeding; carbuncles and sores.

Usage: For external use, appropriate quantity of the fresh herb to be decocted for washing or pounded into paste for topical application.
