Castor Oil is the fatty oil obtained by squeezing and purfication from the ripe seed of Ricinus communis L. (Fam. Euphorbiaceae).

Action: Purgative by stimulating intestinal peristalsis.

Indications: Used for evacuation from the bowels.

Precaution: Incompatible with fat-soluble anthelmintics. Contraindicated in pregnancy.
