Broadleaf Globethistle Root is the dried root of Echinops Iatifolius. Tausch or Echinops grijisii Hance (Fam. Compositae).

Action: To remove toxic heat for treating subcutaneous infections, to evacuate pus and arrest bleeding, and to promote lactation.

Indications: Carbuncle; mastitis with swelling and pain; galactostasis; scrofula and ulcers. It is also used for ascariasis.

Precaution: Used with caution in pregnancy.
