Blister Beetle is the dried body of Mylabris phalerate
Pallas or Mylabris cichorii Linnaeus (Fam. Meloidae).
Action:
To eiminate blood
stasis and masses, to induce blisters and to cauterizeulcers.
Indications:
Mass in the abdomen, cancer, chronic tinea, scrofula, vegetation,
abscess difficult to burst, malignant sore and slough.
Usage: Decocted
after processing or used for making pills or powders; for
external use, appropriate quantity to be ground into powder
or steeped into wine or vinegar or preparing for ointment
for topical application in limited areas.
Precaution:
Very toxic. Be cautious for oral administration.
Contraindicated in pregnancy .
