Bitter Apricot Seed is the dried ripe seed of Prunus armeniaca L. var. ansu Maxim. Prunus sibirica L. Prunus mandshurica (Maxim.) Koehne or Prunus armeniaca L.(Fam. Rosaceae ).

Action: To relieve cough and asthma, and to relax bowels.

Indications: Cough and asthma accompanied by stuffiness in the chest and profuse expectoration; constipation due to deficiency of blood and fluid.

Usage: To be added when the decoction is nearly done.

Precaution: Overdosage may cause intoxication.
