Medicinal materials of Liriope Root/Radix Liriopes

Liriope Root is the dried root tuber of Liriope apicata (Thunb.) Lour. var. prolifera Y. T. Ma or Liriope muscari (Desne) Baily (Fam. Liliaceae).

Action: To nurish yin and promote the production of body fluid, to moisten the lung, and to ease the mind.

Indications: Dry cough, phthisical cough; thirst due to impairment of body fluid; fidgetness and insomnia; diabetes caused by internal heat; constipation.
