Field Thistle Herb is the dried aerial part of Cirsium setosum (Willd. ) MB. (Fam. Comppositae).

Action: To arrest bleeding by reducing heat in blood, and to remove blood stasis and induce the subsidence of swelling.

Indications: Epistaxis, spitting of blood, hematuria, hematochezia, abnormal uterine bleeding, traumatic bleeding; carbuncles and sores.

Dosage: Appropriate quantity of oral administration; appropriate quantity of the fresh herb to be pounded for topical application.
