Mother Root is the dried parent root tuber of Aconitum carmichaeli Debx.
(Fam. Ranunculaceae).
Action: To
relieve rheumatic conditions and alleviate pain by warming the channels.
Indications:
Joint pain in rheumatic or rheumatoid arthritis, epigastric pain with cold
sensation, or abdominal colic due to cold, also used as an analgesic in anaesthesis.
Precaution:
Be cautious when the unprocessed root is taken orally. Incompatible
with Bulbus Fritillariae, Rhizoma Pinelliae, Rhizoma Bletillae, Radix Ampelopsis,
Radix Trichosanthis.
