Constituents:
Containing alkaloids, tetrandrine A.B.C. and phenols, etc..
Actions: Tetrandrine
A at 1:4000 concentration in vitro, has killing effect against
cancer cells,1~10mg/ml was effective on human leukemic cells.
In vivo, at dose of 30~50mg/kg ip. or 100 mg/kg sc., it inhibited
EAC and HepA murine tumors, at 50mg/kg ip.,its inhiting rates
against EAC of L and B types, Hep 120 and S45 were 74%, 47%,90%
and 48%, respectively
Indications:It
was used for treatment of esophageal, lung and rectum cancers.
(1)Lung cancer:tetrandrine A combined
with small dose of radiotherapy treated 97 cases of II-IV
stage lung cancer patients, among them PR rate was 31. 95%,
the effective rate was 61.75%, some of patients were followed
up for 2 years, the status was well, individual returned to
work.
(2)Rectum cancer: tetrandrine A its suppository
preparation 180mg/each, 1 supp/once put in to rectum, twice/daily.
Tablets 60mg/tab, po. 1 tab/once, t.i.d, 8 cases of advanced
rectum cancer patients were treated with above preparations
(7 cases were adenoma,1 case was sarcoma), the results showed
that 7 cases have survived for more than one year (in 3 cases,
the tumor size decreased) and appetite was improved [15:340].
