Sources:The
roots of Stellera chamaejasme L. Family Thymelacaceae.
Constituents:
Containsing Stellerin, sterols, phenol compounds ,amino acids,
organic acids and fischeriana A, etc.
Actions:The inhibiting
rates of alcohol extract of the herb against LLC was 70.2%,
its inhibiting rates of its volatile material against Heps
was 42.5%, against U14 was 50.5%, its anticancer activity
was higher than that of VCR
and 5FU[21:407].
Indications:
It could be used for treatment of liver, lung, intestine and
breast cancers. The dry product of the herb was made of 1:1
concentration injection preparation of im. once a day, 4ml/once,
one course of treatment was 3 months, after stopped treatment
for l week, treatment was continued, 170 cases of lung, breast,intestine,
cerebral and neuroglioma were treated , certain curative effects
were observed, and no adverse reactions such as to kiduey,
liver and blood formation functions were found. Among the
170 cases treated, 8 cases (5%) survived over 5 years, 4 cases
(2.4%) over 4~5 years, 13 cases (7.5%) over 3~4 years, 20
cases (12%) over 2~3 years, 45 cases (25%) over 1~2years,
20 cases (12%) over 6 months to 1 year, 60 cases (35%) survived
less than 6 months. It was mainly effective against lung,
breast cancers, secondary against esophageal and rectum cancers,
no effective for gastric cancer.
The injection preparation of the herb
at 1:1 concentration of im. 4ml/once, 2 times/a day, one month
was a course of treatment, treated 43 cases of primary liver
cancers, 6 cases of lung cases of cancers and 5 cases of other
tumors and also treated orally by the alcoholic extract of
the herb made of tablets, 0.3%/tab, 4 times/a day, the total
dose was 90~1620g. The injection preparation was used for
the patients with thoracic-abdomino cavity injection, 20ml/once,
once a week, 5 times for one course
of treatment, The results showed that among 54 cases, CR 3
PR 9, S3, CR+PR rate was 22%, the objective effective rate
was 63%.
