flauescens Ait. Family Leguminosae.
Constituents:
Containing matrine, oxymatrine, sophoranol, N-methylcyti-
sine, anagyrine, isomatrine, etc.
Actions:The total
alkaloids, matrine and oxymatrine were effective against S180
sarcoma, in which, the single principle of alkaloids its inhibiting
rate was over 35%, the mixed alkaloids C at dose of 113mg/kg*10d
with ip., its inhibiting rate was 61.38%, against S37,U14,
the inhibiting rates were over 40%. Oxymatrine at dose of
375mg/kg*10d, the life span prolongating rate against EAC
was 128.9%.
Indications:It
could be used for treatment of colon, esophageal, cervical,
cyst cancers and malignant lymphoma.

The herbs were boiled, administered orally,
one dose/daily, 50 cases of advanced colon cancer in which
15 cases have metastasis. The results showed that the surviving
rates of 1,2,3,4,5 years were 80%, 43.5%, 31.7%, 20% and 9.1%,
respectively.
