The branches with
leafs of Scurrula parasitica L. [Loranthus parasiticus
(L.)Merr.]Family Loranthaceae.
Constituents:
Containing oleanolic acid,¦Âamyrin, quercetin,lupeol
and avicularin, et al.
Actions: In vitro,
its inhibiting rates against S180 and JTC-26 cancer cells
were 39.5% and 50~70% respectively. Same kind plant of Viscum.
Album L., its visotoxin A2, A3, B principles have anticancer
effect and inhibited DNA synthesis of cancer cells. Toxopeptides
A inhibited the growth of S180,its inhibiting rate was 50%,and
prolonged life span of tumor bearing mice. The crude extract
fluid of the herb enhanced the immune function of mice.
Indications:It
was used for treatment of cystic, ovary and rectum cancers.
The composite prescription of the herb as follows.
(1) For cyst cancer:
Ramulus Taxilli 30g
Polyporus 30g
Herba Hedyotis,Diffusae 30g
Semen Asragali Complanati 15g
Pseudobulbus Cremastrae scu 15g
Pleines
The water decoction of the composit prescription
was administered orally twice daily. 53 cases of cyst cancer
patients treated, the results showed that 2 cases were CR,
33 cases wer PR, 11 cases were MR,7 cases Were NC. The total
effective rate was 86.8%.
(2)For nasopharyngeal cancer:

The water decoction of the composite
administered orally, once daily, 12 cases of nasopharyngeal
cancer patients were treated, the results showed that 1 case
was CR, 1 case was PR, 1 case was MR. The total effcetive
rate was 25%.
