Sources:The
roots of Scropularia ningpoensis Hemis. Family Sorophulariaceae.
Constituents:
Containing scrophularin, iridoid harpagoside being 70%~80%
of the iridois, volatile oil, volatile alkaloid, glucosides,
L-asparagine, fatty acid, etc.
Actions: 500ug/ml
water extract of the herb has 50%~70% inhibiting rates against
human cerviacl carcinoma JTC-26 cell line.
Indications:It
was used for treatment of esophageal, nasopharyngeal, colonic
carcinoma and lymphoma, thyroid adenocarcinoma, etc.

The decoction of above herbs was taken
to treat radiotherapeutic reactions of the patients suffering
from esophageal cancer (42 cases).
The clinical results showed that remarkable
effect (symptom disappeard or basically disappeared, patient's
general condition turned better), and improvement (symptom
vanished, the condition improved) were 29 and 9 cases respectively,
the total effective rate was 90.4%.

The formulas was used to treat 50 cases
of nasopharyngeal carcinoma after radiotherapy, CR was in
12 cases. The survival rate above 5 years was 24%. The cases
of CR, PR, MR and NC were 12.16, 4 and 6 respectively.
