Sources:The
whole body of Scolopendra mutilans Newport Family Scolopendridae.
Constituents:
Containing two kinds of poison toxic substances, histamine
and hemolytic protein, tyrosine, leucine, formic acid, fatty
oil, cholesterol, etc.
Actions: The animal
experiments showed that Scolopendra was effective markedly
against S180, Ec, and W256 tumors. It was effective against
human liver and stomach cancer cells with methyleneblue method,
ascites carcinoma cells with eosin method.
Indications:In
Shandong Chanwei hospital the Scolopendra was made of powder
and decoction, it was used for treament of 43 cases of liver,
esophageal, cervical and mammary cancers, among them 5 cases
were CR, 8 cases were PR, 15 cases were effective, the total
effective rate was 65.1%.
