The whole plant
of Sarcandra glabra (Thunb.) Nakai Family Chloranthaceae.
Constituents:
Containing fumaric acid, flavonoids, succinic acid, volatile
oils and coumarin, etc.
Actions:The extract
of the herb was administered (4~12g/kg, 7~11 days ig.), the
inhibiting rates against S180 and W256 were 30.5%~56.7%. The
total volatile oil was administered (0.3~2ml/kg, 8~11 days
ig.) the inhibiting rate against S180 was 27%~42%, neutral
volatile oil was 28%~43.6%, the A, C components isolated from
neutral volatile oil against S180 were 45%~45.5% , the crystal
B isolated from dry extract (containing organic acid and succinic
acid) was effective on S180 (0.25~0.3g/kg, ip. 9~13 days),
the inhibiting rate was 30%~49.4%. NO.1 flavonoid administered
(360mg/kg), the inhibiting rate on ESC was 40%.
Indications:It
can be used for treatment of pancreatic, liver, gastric cancers
and leukemias.
Total flavonoids administered orly 100~400mg/each
time, 3~4 times /daily or 25mg/2ml, im. twice daily in 5 cases
of advanced pancreatic cancers, the results showed that the
symptoms were improved and in cases. part tumors decreased
and the life span of the patients prolonged, the drug administered
for a long period of time, no adverse reactions were found.
The 18 cases of advanced digestive cancer patients were treated
with the injection preparation of the drug (20g crude herb/2ml,
4ml/once, twice daily, a treatment course was 30 days), the
tablets of the herb (2.5g crude/one tab., three times daily,
for 30 days), the results showed as follows:3 cases were significant
effective, 10 cases were effective, 5 cases were no effective,
the total effective rate was 72%.
The injection preparation and tablets
of the herb were used for treatment of various kinds of cancers,
total 373 cases, in which the significant effective rate was
15.3%, the total effective rate was 53.9%. Tt was combined
with other chinese herbs, treated 14 cases of acute leukemia
patients, among them 4 cases were CR, 6 cases were PR, the
single drug treated 9 cases, in which 2 cases were CR, 4 cases
were PR.
