Sources:The
rhizoma of Polygonum cuspidatum Sieb. et Zucc. Family
Polygonaceae.
Constituents:
Containing emodin, parietin, chrysophanol,tannin, etc.
Actions:Studies
in vivo verified that the hot water extract of Rhizoma Polygoni
Cuspidate has an inhibiting rate of 68% on Sarcoma-180 ascite
type in mice. Experiments in vitro showed that the hot water
extract of the herb could inhibit JTC-26 WITH A RATE OF 90%.
In addition, emodin was effective
against HL-60 cell line and S180, HepS, EAC, B16, W256, etc.
murine tumors with an inhibitory rate of 30%.

Rhizoma Polygoni Cuspidati 30~60g
Radix Actinidiae Chinensis 30~60g
Radix Vitis Wilsonae 30~60g
Radix Codonopsis 15g
Atractylodis Macro- 15g
cephalae
Poria 15g
Caulis Fructus ARbiae 15g
Semen Coicis 30g
Radix Glycyrrhizae 6g
Fructus Crataegi 12g
All the above herbs were decocted for
oral administration, one dosage daily, 30 days as a therapeutic
course. The above herbs could be increased and decreased according
to the symptoms. The prescription was combined with chemotherapy
to treat advanced intestinal cancer for 25 therapentic courses,
the total effective rate was 76%~85%.

The decoction of above herbs was taken
twice daily and was used for treatment of 180 cases of gastric
carcinoma, 3 cases were remarkable efficacy, 7 cases were
efficacy, the totaleffective rate was 55.6%
