Sources:The
rhizome of Polygonum bistorta L. Faimly Ploygonaceae.
Constituents:
Containing tannin, gallic acid, D-catechol, flavonoids, resin,
etc.
Actions: Studies
in vitro proved that the alcohol extract of herb had a higher
inhibiting activity against Hela cell line, and the water
extract of herb was effective on EAC of mioce with a inbiting
rate of 75%.
Indications:The
prescription of Fei Ai Ping Gao was composed with Rhizoma
Bistortae, Herba Hedyotis Diffusae , Radix Astrgali, Radix
Codonopsis and Radix Glehniae . The preparation was used to
treat 339 cases of moderate and advanced pulmonary carcinoma
. The results showed that the process of illness of the patients
was delayed, the sickness was stabilized and their clinical
symptoms were relieved.
