Sources:The
root and whole plant of Patrinia scabiosaefolia Fisch.
Family Valerianaceae.
Constituents:
Containing paterinoside, saponins, oleanolic acid, sapogenin,b-sitostb-
b-Dglucoside, scabioside, alkaloid, tannin, etc.
Actions: The infusion
of hot water of the herb possessed 50%~70% inhibitory rate
against JTC-26 cell line and the hot water extract of the
herb possessed 98.62% inhibitory rate against JTC-26. It did
not inhibit normal cells and promoted normal cells (human
fibroblast) growth. The hot water extract of the herb injectted
into the abdominal cavity of S180 bearing mice, the nihibiting
rate was 57.4%.
Indications:It
was used for treatment of bladder, cervical, intestinal and
rectal cancers, etc.

Herba Patriniae 30g
Herba Galii Teneri 60g
Fructus Bruceae 15 grain
Herba Solani Lyrati 60g
Herba Rohdeae Japonicae 30g
Fructus Polygoni Orientalis 15g
The decoction of the herbs (Fructus Bruceae
Preparing capsules) was taken, divided into 2 times for oral
administration daily combined with point-injected chemotherapetic
drugs to treat 51 cases of intestinal cancer. The clinical
effects showed that effectivenss and ineffect were 34 and
17 cases, total effective rate was 66.7%.
