Actions: The herb
has inhinitory action against colonic carcinoma which induced
by DMH on SD rats with feeding 0.75% herb food for 24 weeks.
The rats didved into 3 groups. A group fed common food. B
group fed 0.3% bile salt food. C group fed 0.3% bile salt
and 0.75% the herb food. All of the rats administered DMH
with 20mg/kg s.c for 20 weeks. The tested result showed that
the rates. of the tumor occuring in A, B and C group were
62.5- %, 90.5% and 26.7% so the herb wes able remarkably to
inhibit the carcin- ogenic effect of bile salt (P<0.01).
The mechanism probably was that the herb was able to acidify
enteral environment, inhibited 7a-decarboxylase in enteral
bacterium, decreased the quantity of total DCA and frree DCA,
retrained DNA synthesis of intestinal epithelial cell, reduced
S phase cells, the sensitivity of the cell to DMH was lowered,
therby the carcinog- enesis was inhibited.
Indications:It
was used for the treatment of nasopharyngeal, tongue, gastric,
colonic cancer and osteolytic sarcoma.

The above herbs herbs prepared tablets
tablets, one tablet containing 0.03 crude drugs. The tablets
were taken to treat many cases of nasophary- ngeal, tongue,
gastric, colonic cancer and osteolytic sarcoma, administere-
d one table twice or thrice daily for 4 to 6 months.The main
side effect was stomatitis occasionally. After stopped to
take the tablets, the stomatitis could be disappeared. In
course of treatment the patients abstained from omion, garlic,
strong tea, chicken, carp, beef, female pork. The clinical
results showed that the effective rate was over 605, cure
rate was 105. The patients survived more than 5 or 10 years
were in 12 or 6 cases.
