Actions: In Shanghai
Institute of Mayteria Medica, the anticancer actions of maytansine
and maytanprine were studied on murine tumors.maytansine at
50ug/kg*5d, ip. the inhibiting rates against S180, LLC and
B22 were 42.8%,31.8% and 32%. The inhibiting rates of maytanprine
at 15ug/kg against S180, LLC and B22 were 23.8%, 28% and 15.8%
respectively. The life span prolongating rates of maytansine
and maytanprine at 25, 50ug/kg against P388, L1210 were 130%ºÍ140%
and 71.3%ºÍ166.3%, at 15ug/kg were 138% and 63.4%
respectively. In addition, it was effective against HepA,
EAC and W256 murine tumors as well.
Indications:It
could be used mainly for treatment of digestive tract cancers
such as: esophageal,gastric and liver cancers. The tablets
of the herb (0.1g/each, containing extract product 20mg equal
to crude herb 20g),3~4 tabs/once, 3~4 times/a day, 20 cases
of various kinds of cancers were treated, the results showed
that PR 3, MR 6, NC 11, the toatl effective rates was 45%.
16 cases of liver cancer were treated with the preparation
of acetic acid extract of the herb, the results showed that
2 cases were significantly improved, among them in l case,
the tumor size was 9.5cm under rib, the ultrasonic dianosis,
isotope scaing and AFP examinations were all positives, after
drug treatment, the tumor size reduced to l cm under rib,
the above 3 kinds of positive indices, all turned into negatives,
and his body weight was increased 10kgs.
