Sources:The
mature fruit of Macrocarpium officinalis (Sieb. et Zucc.)
Nakai [Cornus officinalis Sieb. et Zucc.] Famliy Cornaceae.
Constituents:
Containing verbenalin,neuverbenalin, morroniside, vitamin
A, etc.
Actions: The decoction
of herb could kill the EAC cells in vitro and had enhanced
immune functions, such as increased the hemolysin level of
mice and remarkably elevated serum antibodies IgG.
Indications:Composite
prescription for epithelial hyperplasia of esophagus:
Radix Rehmanniae 240g
Fructus Corni 12g
Rhizoma Dioscoreae 12g
Rhizoma Alismatis 90g
Cortex Moutan 90g
Poria 90g
The above herbs were ground into powder
and rolled with honey into pills of 9 grams each, 1~2 of pills
were taken every morning. This treatment might be continued
for 1 year.
This formula was administered to 30 cases
of severe epithelial hyperplasia of esophagus, 8 cases of
ehich were changed to normal, 18 cases were turued to mild
or medium hyperplasia, 3 cases were inefficacy and 1 case
was turned to squamous carcinoma, the overall effective rate
was 86.7%.
