Sources:The
flower of Lonicera japonica Thunb.Famliy Caprifoliaceae.
Constituents:
Containing luteolin, inositol, saponin, tannlin, etc.
Actions: The water
extract of herb had a killing action on HL-60 cells (human
acute granulocytic leukemia) at a dose of 0.5mg/ml.
Indications:Composite
prescription (Er Cao Shuang Hua Tang) for nasopharyngeal breast
carcinoma and leukemia:
Radix Ginseng 3g
Flos Lonicerae 30g
Herba Hedyotis Diffusae 30g
Spica Prunellae 20g
The decoction was taken twice a day and
was used for treatment of nasopharyngeal carcinoma in 30 cases
which received radiotherapy as the experimental group and
another 30 cases which only received radiotherapy
as the control group.
The results showed that the survival
rate of 5 years was 70%, however in the control group the
survival rate of 5 years was 36.7%
