Sources:The
whole plant with roots of Lobelia chinensis Lour. Family
Campanulaceae.
Constituents:
Containing alkaloids, flavonglycoside, saponin, amino acid,
etc.
Actions: Screening
tests in vitro with monolayer Hela-cell culture showed that
Herba Lobelia Chinensis had an anticancer action. Tests in
vivo showed the herb was effective against Sarcoma-37 of mice.

prescription (Sha Ai No. 1 Jian):
Herba Lobeliae Chinensis 30g
Herba Scutellariae Barbatae 30g
Herba Hedyotis Chrysotrichae 30g
Semen Coicis 30g
Herba Hydrocotyles Sibthorpioidis 60g
The above herbs were decocted for oral
administration twice a day.
Mainly of this prescription was combined
with other therapys to treat 238 cases of hepatocarcinoma
(primary 224 cases and secondary 14 cases).
The results showed that 12 cases of which
were complete remission, 43 cases were remarkable efficacy,
80cases were efficacy, 15 cases were deterioration, 88 cases
died. The total effective rate was 56.5%.
