mature seeds of Livistona chinensis Jacq. R. Br. Family
Palmae.
Constituents:
Containing phenols, tannin, reduced saccharides, etc.
Actions: The herb
evidently inhibited encephaloma-22 on mice and has analgesic
action.
Indications:
(1)For nasopharyngeal carcinoma:
Semen Liuistonae Chinensis 90g
Herba Rubi Paruifolii 60g
Radix Cynanchi Paniculati 30g
Radix Zanthoxyli Nitidi 30g
Rhizoma Imperatae 30g
Herba Polygoni Perfoliati 30g
Rhizoma Chuanxiong 15g
Rhizoma Dioscoreae 15g
Radix Rehmanniae 24g
(Add-substract:Rhizoma Arisaematis 30~60g Rhizoma pinelliae
30~60g.)
Combinde treatment mainly with this prescription
and chemotherapy to trat 4 cases of advanced nasopharyngeal
carcinoma, significantly effective was observed, 1 case was
complete remission, 1 case survived for over 6 years and the
other 2 cases survived for 3 years and 1.5years respectively.
(2)For lenkemia:
Semen Liuistoae Chinensis 30g
Radix Plumbaginis Zeylanicae 30g
Herba Hedyoitis Diffusae 30g
The herbs were decocted for oral administration
twice a day (according to the symptoms, increased or decreased
the other traditional Chinese medicines).
The prescrption was used for treatment
of 26 cases of leukemia, the compelete or part remission was
total in 11 cases.
