Constituents:
Containing carrotin, amino acids, polysaccharides, etc.
Actions: The hot
water extract of various Thallus Laminariae has an inhibitory
action on Sarcoma-180. The freeze drying substances were made
by the hot water extract from Laminaria angustata and Laminaria
angustata Var I, then the drug was dieted to S180 bearing
mice at the dose of 100mg/kg. d and 50mg/kg.d respectively,
the inhibitory rates were 76.3% and 83.6% respectively.

The prescription was taken with decoction
daily and used for treatment of 182 cases of esophaeal carcinoma.
The results showed that the survival periods for l year, 2
years and over 3 years were, 14.83%, 2.2% and 1.1% respectively.
