Sources:The
seeds of Impatiens balsamina L. Family Balsaminaceae.
Constituents:
Containing Saponin, fatty oils, b-sitosterol, quercetrin ,
etc.
Actions: The test
in vitro showed that the drug was sensitive to gastroly- mphosarcoma.
Studies in vivo showed that the drug was effective in inhib-
iting of transplanted sarcoma-37 in mice.

The decoction of these herbs was used
for treatment of 27 cases of esophageal cancer, with complete
remission in 2 cases, remaekable effective in 6 cases, effective
in 11 cases and inefficacy in 8 cases. The total effective
rate was 70. 4% and two cases survived for over 4 years.
