whole plant of Houttuynia cordata Thunb. Family Saururaceae.
Constituents:
Containing laurialdehyed, cordarine, myrcene, quercitrin,
etc.
Actions: Bacteriophagic
tests in vitro suggested that the herb had anticancer action.A
needle-like crystal extracted from the herb with a melting
point of 140 dgrees centigrade, was found effective for stomach
carcinoma .

the decoction of above herbs was taken
twice a day and was used for the treatment of 31 cases of
cervical carcinoma , in which 14 cases were complete remission
after the drug administration, 8 cases were remarkable efficacy,
5 cases were efficacy and 4 cases were efficacy , the total
effective rate was 87.1%.
