Sources:The

Constituents:
Containing protein, carbohydrates, fibrin, fixed oil, phosospholipids,b-sitosterl,
chlorogenic acid, polysaccharides, etc.
Actions: When
the rats were administered mutagens (NDEA and z-AFF),it could
induce the prehepatocarcinoma's nodes, such as thenodes number
was 8.26(+-)3.55, the area of the cancerous marker (liver
glutamyl-transpeptidase r-GT) was was 1.07(+-) 0.32mm3, the
sera r-GT was 15.5(+-)6.6u/ml. While of days before administration
of mutagens, 5~6g/d of the seeds of herb were given, the numer
of nodes were decreastd to 4.35(+-) 2- .35, the r-GT marker
and r-GT in sera were decreased to 0.54(+-)0.33mm3 and 3.20(+-)0.7u/ml
respectively. It indicated that the herb had a certain preventive
effect against carcinogenesis.
Indications:
(1)For stomach cancer:
The decoction of the stem pith of herb was taken as drink
with a daily dose of 30 grams, among the 10 cases of stomach
cancer treated with the drink, the remission, periond of 5
cases was over 4 years, 1 cases was 1 year,1 case was 9 months
and 3 cases were 3~4months, while in the control group, 47
cases of stomach cancer, their mean survival period was 8~9
months, and the survival rate of 4 years was only 5%.
(2)For choriocarcinoma (Kui Wei He Ji)
The Receptaculum Helianthui (90g), Herba Pteridis Multifidae
(60g) and Fructus (Radix) Adinae (60g) were decocted with
water for 1~2 hours into semicolloid broth for oral administration
daily.
Two patients of choriocarcinoma through
administrating 5~6 doses, the symptoms were improved, and
the symptoms completely disappeared after 50~60 doses.
