Sources:The
roots and rhizoma of Gentiana scabra Bge.Family Gentianaceae.
Constituents:
Containing gentio-picrin (about2%),gentianine (about 0.15%),
gentianose (about4%),tec.
Actions: The boiling
water extract of Gentiana scabra Bge. was effective against
S180 (ascitic type) on male mice, the inhibting rate was 52%
with a dose of ip.100mg/kg once daily for 5 days. Tests in
vitro showed that the extract has inhibiting action on JTC-26
cells, the inbitory rates were 70%90%.
Indications:The
herb cold be used for treatment nasoparyngeal, pancreatic,
cervical, thyroid cancers, and leukenmia etc.
(1)Huang Qin Long Tang for acute lenkemia:

Radix Scutellariae 10g
Fructus Gardeniae 10g
Caulis ARebiae 10g
Radix Angelicae Sinesis 10g
Radix Rehmanniae 10g
Radix Bupleuri 10g
Polyporus 10g
Rhizoma Alismatis 10g
Caulis Spatholobi 30g
Radix Saluiae Miltiorrhizae 30g
The decoction of above herbs was taken
to 26 cases of acte leukemia (part cases combined with chemotherapy)
twice time a day. The clinical results showed that CR 14 cases
, Pr 10 cases, total responsive rate was 92.3%. 13 cases survived
for one year and 3 cases for two years.
(2)Chai Hu Long Dan Tang for moderate
and advanced pancreatic cacer:

The decoction of above herbs was taken
to 42 cases of moderate or advanced pancreatic cancer, twice
a day. The clinical results showed that survival rates for
5,2 and 1 years were 4.8%,50% and 90.5% respctively. The clinical
symptoms of the patients improved or disappeared and the jaundice
