Sources:The
dried female whole body of Eupolyphaga sinensis Walker
Family Corydiidae.
Constituents:
Containing volatile oils, amino acids, protein, phenols, organic
acid, alkaloids,etc.
Actions: Experiments
in vitro with methylene blue method showed that the drug inhyibited
liver cancer, stomach cancer and acute lymphocytic leuke-
mia. In addition, it's effective against some murine tumors.
Indications:The
composite prescription as follows.
(1)For glossocancer:
7 pieces of Eupolyphaga seu Steleophaga
were decocted with 45 grams of salt in a large cup of water
for a short period of time and the broth was only for gargling
3 to 5 times a day without being swallowed.
(2)For primary hepatoma:
Wu Cheng Wan (consisting of Eupolyphaga seu Steleophaga, Hirudo,
Tabanus, GeRRo Swinhoana and Cutis Bfonis) was taken twice
a day with the dose of 9 gram to 3 cases of hepatoma. The
results indicated that 1 case survived above 3 years, 1 case
survived for 3 years and 1 case was 1 year.
