Sources:The
root of Echinops Latifoliu Tausch. Family compositae.
Constituents:
Containing volatile oils, phenols, echinopsine,b-sitosterol,
etc.
Actions: The herb
could promote the transformation of lymphocytes, increas immunity
and could indirectly inhibit carcinocytoplasia. In addition,
the drug could strengthen the status of the patients suffering
from vascular malnutrition accompanied with general deficiency.
Indications:
(1) For breast cancer:
Radix Echinopsis (Radix Rhapontici) 15g
Rhizoma et Rhizoma Dysosmae 9g
Radix Ampelopsis 9g
Flos Caraganae Sinicae 9g
Semen Brassicae Campestris 30g
Radix Semiaquilegiae 30g
Fructus Fici Pumilae 30g
Eupolyphaga seu Steleophaga 10g
Nidus Vespae 10g
The above herbs were taken with decoction,
divided into 2~3 times for oral administration daily.
The preparation was administered to 42
cases of breast cancer, 25 cases of which were efficacy and
17cases inefficacy, the total effective rate was 59.5%.
(2) For glossocancer:
150 grams of the herb and 150 grams of Radix et Rhizoma Verati
et Radix Echinopsis; (Radix Rhapontici) wereimmersed in 500ml
of 95% ethanol for 72 hours, then the residues of the drug
were filtered out. The local lesion of cancer was coated and
washed with cotton balls significant efficacy was observed.
